Discussion Board - Week 6
The readings this week expand on investigation and of digital forensic analysis and investigations. Organizations, especially those in the public, health and educational areas are bound by legal and statutory requirements to protect data and private information, therefore digital forensics analysis will be very beneficial when security breaches do occur. Using this weeks readings and your own research, discuss digital forensics and how it could be used in a risk management program.

Forensic digital analysis is a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of Electronically Stored Information (ESI), to determine the information that may support or challenge issues in a criminal or c i vil investigation or a court proceeding ( Bokolo and Senol , 2022 ) . Digital forensics may as well be said to be the process of identification, preservation, documentation, and obtaining of computer evidence that can be applied by a court of law. It is simply the science of discovering evidence from digital devices such as a mobile phone, server, computer , or network. An organization needs to have a good interpretation of a given risk.

Digital forensics usually have the retrieval and investigation of information related to cybercrime; this information is usually in digital devices. Digital forensics may be used in the identification of risks that may be vulnerable from a digital perspective. An example of such a risk is the money laundering accounts, intensive digital forensics are capable of discovering risks of this kind within an organization. Digital forensics can also be used in networks that intend to determine the presence of different risks within the network. When digital forensics is used in collaboration with the process of risk management, it determines the different risks that the organization might face.  When used together with ERM the risks identified are successfully managed.
