A customer's value to a business is not only monetary but also based on his or her satisfaction. Happy consumers spread positive word of mouth, and unhappy consumers spread negative word of mouth (online or offline). Their opinions shape the company's reputation, which is crucial when selecting a product, service, or organization.

To evaluate customer satisfaction, businesses need user input. Traditionally, consumer input is obtained through surveys. How customers express their views on social media creates new opportunities and simplifies businesses to contact more consumers, gain valuable data, and manage their brands. Social media have transformed human interactions, activities, and the spread of knowledge. Sentiment analysis is a new academic field that has been rapidly commercialized during the past decade.
