Task: Individual Report, 1,500-words (maximum)

-        As an individual, read, study, and analyse the Gore-Tex Case Study

-        Engage in further current research on Gore-Tex, its leadership style, its innovation(s), and the competitors and rivals in its industry / sector

-        Analyse, using theories and examples from our classes, materials, and reading lists, plus data, facts, and figures from your own research, how Gore-Tex has blended leadership and innovation, in order to continue to be successful and sustainable in the future

-        Analyse how you as an individual, have developed leadership and innovation qualities in your studies, and how these qualities can further develop into your career, and life beyond graduation

-        Write your analysis in a 1,500-word individual report (maximum), fully referenced, and ensuring your report is creative and visually engaging (using images, tables, charts, graphs, links), as well as full of academic analysis.

W.L Gore & associates, a company famous for its production of the famous Gore-Tex fabric , has been able to create a niche in the textiles and material science business . Gore-Tex fabric and other products developed by this privately held company have always been unique and innovative, and so has the company’s management. The company's competitors include other leading firms in the outdoor and performance wear industry, including Patagonia, The North Face, and Columbia Sportswear. Using leadership and innovation as its strengths , Gore-Tex is still a leader in product development and market position ( Kubley et al., 2019 ) . This report will analyse how Gore-Tex has incorporated leadership and innovation management to maintain its position in the market , how it can continue to innovate and succeed in the future, and how these concepts are related to personal leadership and innovation management.

To understand the success of Gore-Tex, the company’s leadership style and its persistence in innovation strategy have to be discussed. The company’s management structure is also decentralized and non-hierarchical , with few management layers, and associates are empowered to lead. This is in tandem with transformational leadership theories , which state that subordinates should be encouraged to produce better results than what they had planned for (George, Gibson, and Barbour, 2022).
