Finding work after college can be difficult, especially in light of the fierce competition on the market today. In order to attain our post-graduation goals, it is essential for us as students to undertake a successful job search. So, this reflective essay aims to offer a distinctive perspective on my job-searching experience and the subsequent measures I want to take to find employment after graduation. The two main goals of this reflective account are to evaluate my job-searching experience in light of the suggestions made by the UK job-search literature and to create a thorough job-searching plan for the future. In the first part of this reflection, I will talk about how important looking for a job is for achieving post-graduate goals. The evaluation of my job search process that follows will go over the tactics I used, the challenges I faced, and the results I got. I will then reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of my job hunt as well as what I may have done better to make it a more positive overall experience. I will compare the advice offered in the literature on job hunting in the UK with the specific measures I must take to fulfill my future job search goal in the conclusion part.

I used a number of strategies to improve my chances of success when looking for a post-graduate job. I started by doing a lot of research on the job market, including the particular economic sector that caught my attention and the types of businesses I was most interested in working for. I also researched the particular abilities and backgrounds prospective employers were looking for in candidates. As a result, I was able to tailor my resume and cover letter to each job application I sent in, emphasizing my most relevant qualifications. As proposed by Mühlböck et al. (2022) and Piróg (2014), I used networking to raise my chances of getting an interview invitation in addition to tailoring my application materials. I spoke with colleagues and business leaders, went to job fairs and events, and joined online networking groups. Due to the connections I formed with business people using this strategy; I was able to land a lot of interview possibilities.
