This proposal makes an effort to give a paradigm for the primary project that focuses on cyber foundations to security policies in order to assist small and medium-sized organizations in better managing the risk posed by cyber attacks. There is a widespread misconception among the leaders of companies that "small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs)" cannot afford to take advantage of technological innovations like cloud technology. This is a common misconception that arises when it comes to the cyber threats that face "small and medium-sized businesses." If small companies do not take cyber security issues seriously, it may result in a rise in their susceptibility and risks, which may develop into genuine difficulties not only for the small businesses themselves but also for the other individuals involved (Couce-Vieira et al., 2020). This study aims to offer a comprehensive overview of existing data which help tremendously and offer a basic foundation to follow and construct the framework for mapping cyber fundamentals, according to research that was just recently published on the topic of cyber defense in small and medium-sized businesses.

Aim and Objectives

This project's aims are to provide a platform for mapping cyber basics to cyber security measures and to offer assistance to small and medium-sized businesses in making decisions regarding cyber risk management. Both of these goals will be accomplished by mapping cyber basics to cyber security measures (Armenia et al., 2021). This project also aims to follow solutions including a shortage of supply and a lack of systems that may assist their monitoring activities overall. Risk assessment has become a significant problem in today's society, and it frequently has an effect on the productivity of SMEs for a variety of reasons. The following are the objectives of the project that will state what this project intends to achieve:

However, despite the increased use of technological advancements in SMEs, SMEs' management is completely ignorant of the cyber risks they face. Small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) are responsible for two-thirds of all employment opportunities and more than half of the global GDP in developed nations. Despite the existence of numerous cybersecurity-related laws and regulations, small and medium-sized businesses are the most susceptible to cyber threats. Frequently, SMEs underestimate the cybersecurity risks they face, which increases their vulnerabilities against cyber attacks . Consequently, this results in significant issues for SMEs. Understanding the challenges faced by small and medium-sized businesses is vital, particularly regarding implementing cybersecurity regulations. In this work, bibliometric analysis is performed to compile data from previously published publications on the subject topic. Small- and medium-sized enterprises confront significant challenges in monitoring cybersecurity risks and mitigating these threats. The study reveals that access to data, malicious use of internet content, denial of service, authentication and privilege attack and phishing are among the common cyberattacks that SMEs face. This study recommends that SMEs address the concept of cybersecurity by increasing investment in cybersecurity risk management.

Statistics from the World Trade Organization (WTO, 2016) and studies ( Globalnaps , 2017) show that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) take part in approximately 90% of all business activities with a representation of approximately 60% of the workforce and generation of up to 55% gross domestic product (GDP) in respective countries. This implies that SMEs are a major driving force in global economies. SMEs can be defined as businesses that operate independently and have no subsidiaries ( Pawar and Palivela , 2022; Chidukwani et al.). Also, this type of business has a fixed number of employees and variable annual revenue. Challenges that SMEs face in their operations generate negative effects on economic growth and job creation. Over the course of the past few decades, the corporate world as a whole has migrated into the digital era, while the global presence of cyber threats has increased. Businesses continue to build blockchain-based distributed architecture software systems for use in a range of industries, including real estate, banking, healthcare, and government (Mittal et al., 2021; Ali et al., 2022).
