4.     What is your favorite software application? What tasks does it help you accomplish?

S oftware can be described as a set of instructions that instructs a computer what to do ( Shaghaghi et al., 2020 ) . These instructions can be initiated through a code or a software program. A code is a series of instructions that directs the computer on what to execute. On the other hand , a software program is a series of code s that is written to implement a particular task.

O pen-source software is software whose access is publicly available to anyone for use or modification, such as the Android operating system while closed-source software is software whose access to the source code is not to the public, therefore, cannot be used or modified by an intruder, an example is the iOS operating system ( Dhir , 2017 ) .
